Maintaining embryonic stem cells or induced pluripotent stem cells in a pluripotent, self-renewing and karyotypically normal state for a reasonable and defined period of time currently requires culturing ESC or iPSC in contact with established feeder cells such as mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs).  ArunA Biomedical's Mi-T-MEF™ Mouse Feeder Cells are high quality cells that are mitotically inactivated through mitomycin C treatment and ready to use.  They have been prequalified for human embryonic stem cell work and provide an easy to use source of feeder layers to meet your stem cell needs.

I only obtained 50% recovery from the frozen feeder cells (Cat #A-6), what should I do?

Feeder density used for culturing pluripotent stem cells varies from lab to lab.  Feeders at a
density as low as 1 x 106 cells per 10 cm dish have been successfully used to culture human
embryonic stem (hES) cells (this is the density used by the Harvard Stem Cell Institute). Thus, you could still potentially use the feeder cells even if you got 50% recovery.
